Full Day Yangon City Tour – Yangon (SWC-3)
Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and you'll set forth downtown to find out the city centre and its imaginary mix of architecture and sites. The streets are filled with historical buildings many of which have dimmed colonial attraction that have not seen elsewhere in Southeast Asia. You'll begin at the post office, a valuable historic building and walk to Sule Paya in the middle of downtown, passing by Strand Hotel, Mahabandoola Garden and Independence Monument along the way. Then visit Chinatown, colorful of restaurants, temples and markets. Next you'll reach Bogyoke Market, formerly known as Scott's Market, where there is time to go through many of stalls and shops. This is Yangon's best market for handicrafts, arts, gems and traditional clothes. (Note: Market is closed on Mondays and public holidays).

You'll have lunch at a local restaurant where tasty Burmese food is served in the clean, comfortable surroundings. (Feel Myanmar or others)

After lunch we'll visit Chyaukhtatgyi Pagoda, a 70-meter long reclining Buddha. A visit to Chyaukhtatgyi contributes a great overview of Buddhism with fresco depicting the life of Buddha, the feet of the statue carved with traditional symbols and often many locals gathering to pay homage and pray. After that you'll be guided to Modern Tea Shop for a chance to observe Myanmar life-style. The tea shop is famous in the way they prepare the tea, thus you can test how delicious their hand-made tea.

Next we go on to Kandawgyi Park, one of central Yangon's greenest spots. Here you will see the glittering Karaweik barge, a copy of the royal barge, and the vast lake with views of Shwedagon in the background. You'll see local families who come here on the weekend to relax in the fresh air during your visit in Kandawgyi.

Soon after for a while we continue to Shwedagon Pagoda the most admirable Buddhist Pagoda in Myanmar. Most of Myanmar people believed that it was built in more than 2000 years ago but it can be proved that it was about 11 century then renovated several times until taking its current shape in the 15th century. The 8-sided central stupa is 99 meters tall and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold leaf .Moreover it is surrounded by 64 smaller stupas and you will see the massive complex, observing why this pagoda is so revered. Enjoy breathtaking views of the golden stupa and the city skyline from this vantage point and sunset. (L)
